Almost six months after an open letter to Emmanuel Macron, the UDI deputy Pierre Morel-À-L'Huissier sent this Wednesday, with the communist senator Pierre Laurent, a letter to all the French parliamentarians so that they mobilize for the repatriation of some 200 children of French jihadists held in camps in Syria.
Guest from Europe Soir, he affirms that "if we do nothing, they will be child soldiers within 3-5 years. And then we will be surprised that they come to do things in certain countries."
If they are between 6 months and 4 years old, and therefore too young to become a soldier, the MP says things will change quickly.
According to him, children can be brainwashed from the age of 6, since they are able to learn the "power of weapons".
An assertion he draws from missions carried out 15 years ago in East Timor around child soldiers.
"If we do not take the decision immediately, we may endure it in 4-5 years," abounds the deputy for Lozère, implying that these children will be able to come and commit abuses on French soil.
Indignant, he continues: "I ask all parliamentarians to question themselves. At one point it is a problem of conscience!".
Especially since, according to him, "these children are still recoverable".
