The European Commission (EC) also signed a deal with Moderna on Wednesday, a spokesman for the pharmaceutical company confirms.

An additional 150 million additional doses of the Moderna vaccine will be delivered this year.

Earlier on Wednesday, the EC also signed a deal with pharmaceuticals Pfizer and BioNTech to supply 200 million additional doses with an option for an additional 100 million doses.

The European Commission distributes the purchased vaccines among the 27 EU countries.

The Netherlands is currently scheduled to receive 19.5 million doses of the vaccine from Pfizer / BioNTech and 6.2 million doses of the Moderna vaccine.

Two doses of both vaccines should be administered.

This means that the Netherlands can vaccinate about thirteen million people with these supplies.
