Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the domestic car "TOGG" will be put on the market in 2022.

This came in a speech he gave today, Wednesday, after a government meeting in the presidential complex in the capital, Ankara.

"We will put the Turkish domestic car TOGG at the service of our people on the target date (2022), supported by many innovative technologies," Erdogan said.

The president also stated that the strong rise in industrial production has reaffirmed that Turkey is one of the rare countries to end 2020 with positive economic growth.

The market for cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey achieved a sales growth of 61.3% last year, compared to 2019, according to an annual report of the Turkish Automobile Distributors Association (ODD) (non-governmental).

On December 27, 2019, Turkey unveiled two prototypes of its domestic car in Kocaeli province.

The local car project was launched on November 2, 2017 (Anatolia)

The local car project was launched on November 2, 2017, when a cooperation protocol was signed to form a joint group for the local car production initiative, with the participation of many companies and the Turkish Federation of Chambers and Exchanges.

On the other hand, Erdogan indicated that the curfew restrictions, imposed in the states due to the Corona epidemic, will be lifted according to the numbers of injuries and vaccinations, in addition to other criteria.

The president added, "Based on the criteria set by our ministry, we will divide our states into 4 groups, and start from the first of next March to gradually return to normal life."
