Berlin (dpa / bb) - The corona vaccination campaign that started at the end of December in the Berlin nursing homes has largely been completed, according to the health administration.

About 90 percent of the residents had been vaccinated once and well over 70 percent twice against Corona, said a spokesman on Wednesday at the dpa request.

The difference between the first and second vaccination is due to the fact that some people have become ill in the meantime or have come to a hospital and thus initially did not receive a second injection.

"Here we are working now," said the spokesman.

Some mobile vaccination teams are now on the road again in nursing homes.

Other teams now vaccinated people in care shared apartments.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, 38,422 nursing home residents in Berlin were vaccinated against Corona up to and including Tuesday.

30,246 of them received the second vaccination, which is important for immunization.
