17 February 2021 Confindustria has appealed to Prime Minister Mario Draghi

not

to extend the redundancy block.

The measure was launched to address the economic crisis caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.

The president of the Industrialists' Association Carlo Bonomi explained: "We would not like again, in a few weeks, to see a new extension of the general redundancy block in order to take more time. It would be an invitation to companies to postpone further reorganizations, investments and hiring: a definitely wrong signal ".

Instead, it is "the time to act, to make the commitment to leave no one behind really concrete", says the leader of Viale dell'Astronomia, with reforms on social safety nets and active labor policies.

Great satisfaction for Draghi's program

The president of Confindustria Carlo Bonomi expressed great satisfaction for the speech in the Senate by the new premier on economic and foreign policy issues.

Prime Minister Mario Draghi exposed his programmatic statements at Palazzo Madama.

Carlo Bonomi said: "We express great satisfaction for the clear international and pro-European vision expressed by Prime Minister Draghi: the irreversibility of the euro, the need to be protagonists in an increasingly integrated Europe, the Atlantic alliance, multilateralism in business relations".

Furthermore, the President of the Industrialists expressed the hope that the

parties would

support the new government in a transversal manner, in this moment of crisis, considering it "a duty prior to political affiliations", recalling Prime Minister Draghi's call for unity: "We hope that the parties share and support the strong appeal for unity launched by Prime Minister Draghi, reaffirming the duty of citizenship. A duty prior to political affiliations, the turning point needed to tackle the pandemic and to relaunch a country that is not growing for many years and which today faces new immense difficulties ".

In addition, in the field of

public finance

, Bonomi specified: "In the field of public finance we share the strong call to avoid, with new bad debt, a further and serious theft from future generations. Just as we share the firm will to work on a reform finally organic tax and no longer 'one tax at a time', written by experts and which combines progressiveness with incentives, without hindering the growth of the country ".
