Dresden (dpa / sn) - The State Criminal Police Office of Saxony has offered a reward of 80,000 euros for information about the arson attack on Bundeswehr vehicles on New Year's Eve in Leipzig.

The LKA announced on Wednesday in Dresden that this was done in agreement with the city's public prosecutor.

The attack, which is said to have occurred on December 31, 2020 between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., affected a total of eleven vehicles - off-road vehicles and a trailer that were in a workshop for repairs.

According to the LKA, at least four vehicles burned out completely.

There was considerable property damage, which cannot yet be precisely quantified.

The flames also damaged other vehicles that were in close proximity to those of the Bundeswehr.

On New Year's Day a letter of confession appeared, which is why a political motivation for the act cannot be excluded.

The LKA asked for relevant information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrator or perpetrators and to the investigation of the crime.
