Berlin / Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - 596 new corona infections were registered in Hesse within one day.
A total of 181,523 cases have been detected since the beginning of the pandemic, according to data from the Robert Koch Institute on Wednesday (as of 4.36 a.m.).
The number of deaths related to the virus increased by 48 to 5,553.
The so-called seven-day incidence, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within the past seven days, was 54.7 on Wednesday and has thus fallen slightly again compared to the previous day.
Among the counties and urban districts, the city of Kassel had the lowest value with 21.8, and the highest was the Lahn-Dill district with 87.6.
For comparison: Last Wednesday, the number of registered new corona infections within one day was 658, the number of additionally reported deaths was 67.
