Rostock (dpa / mv) - The corona trend is not clear in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

On Wednesday, the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) reported 198 newly registered infections with the virus, seven fewer than a week ago.

The seven-day incidence nevertheless rose slightly by 0.1 to 64. In a comparison of the federal states, MV has the fourth-highest incidence.

On Tuesday, the office reported 233 new infections, 28 more than on Tuesday the previous week and the highest value since February 4.

According to information on Wednesday, seven other people died on or with Covid-19, so that the number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic is now 664.

339 Covid patients are treated in the hospitals, 18 more than on Tuesday.

70 of these patients are in the intensive care unit, six more than the day before.

According to the office, four of the eight regions in MV have an incidence of less than 50: The district of Vorpommern-Rügen (21.4), the city of Rostock (26.3), the district of Rostock (36.1) and the district of Mecklenburgische Seenplatte ( 48.0).

The number of infected people per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days is highest in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district at 171.9.

Northwest Mecklenburg (59.8), Ludwigslust-Parchim (67.1) and the city of Schwerin (87.8) lie between 50 and 100.

The total number of proven corona infections in the country is now 22,822. Of those affected, 19,794 are considered recovered.

So far, 4.03 percent of the population in MV have received a first corona vaccination, according to the office, 2.29 percent have received the second vaccination.
