Today (16th), a North Korean man was caught near a checkpoint on the Civilian Control Line in Goseong, Gangwon-do.

It appears to be innocent, but is known to have swam down the sea.

In three months since last November, the border of the eastern front has been broken again.

This is Kim Tae-hoon, a reporter specializing in defense.

Today at 4:20 am, a man moving from north to south from the civilian control line area in Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do was caught by military CCTV.

The military ordered'Jindo Dog One', an anti-invasion warning order, to put in troops and secured recruits near the checkpoint a few kilometers south of the armistice line at 7:20 am.

This man is known to have revealed his intention to defect.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said, "It is presumed to be a North Korean male," and said, "We are investigating the route down south, including the possibility of coming by sea."

A source in the military also said, "Men's clothes were all wet."

It means that it has crossed over to the sea and came up to the south coast of the southern barbed wire, but the military's borders and surveillance network have been broken.

The military is known to have been searching nearby areas because it would have used auxiliary equipment such as a wetsuit if it had crossed through the winter sea.

The unit responsible for this region is the 22nd Army Division.

This is the place where a North Korean man passed a barbed wire safely in November of last year and the so-called knockout defection of a North Korean soldier in December 2012.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff is conducting an on-site investigation with the Army Ground Operations Command to see if there were any problems with the alert posture.
