The rockets landed on an air base operated by the coalition at and near Erbil International Airport.

In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “The Kingdom’s government has followed with great concern the terrorist attacks that targeted Erbil International Airport,” and expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of those cowardly attacks that threaten the security and stability of Iraq and the region, and the safety of air navigation in it, and in a way that undermines the efforts of the International Coalition to help Iraq To combat terrorism, and affirmed the kingdom's categorical rejection of destabilizing the unity of Iraq and affecting its territorial integrity.

In a tweet on the social networking site "Twitter", the United Nations representative in Iraq, Janine Hennis-Plasschaert, condemned the attack and called for close cooperation between Baghdad and Erbil to bring the perpetrators to justice.
