According to the document, the dissemination in the media or the Internet of information about an individual-foreign agent, as well as materials produced by him without appropriate marking, will be punishable by a fine.

For individuals it will be set in the amount of 2 thousand to 2.5 thousand rubles, for officials - from 4 thousand to 5 thousand rubles, for legal entities - from 40 thousand to 50 thousand rubles.

At the same time, the amendments to the Administrative Code also permit the confiscation of the subject of an administrative offense.

Similar fines are provided for the dissemination of information in the media about an NPO or public association included in the register of foreign agents. 

Vesta notes with this that for the production of materials by an NCO-foreign agent and their distribution, including through the media or the Internet without special marking, an administrative fine is imposed on officials in the amount of 100 thousand to 300 thousand rubles, on legal entities - from 300 thousand to 500 thousand rubles.

In December 2020, it was reported that 12 media outlets are included in the register of foreign media performing the functions of a foreign agent.
