On Tuesday, you viewers could ask questions to Region Örebro County's infection control doctor, about how to think before the upcoming sports holiday.

Can you travel away and what if someone gets sick during the trip?

In the clip, Gunlög Rasmussen answers a number of questions.

Which of the different viruses is most common in our county at present?

The usual, British, etc.?

Mixed?

Ann-Marie

At present, genetic analysis, so-called whole genome sequencing, is performed for more than 20 percent of all positive covid-19 samples.

So far in our county, we have discovered a few cases of the British virus variant and also a few other variants.

At the same time, we know that the British variant is increasingly common in Sweden in general, and in some counties accounts for up to 20 percent.

Thus, in Sweden there is a spread even for people without a connection to having been abroad./Gunlög Rasmussen

We have not played paddle since November following your recommendations.

Can we play paddle now?

Anne

For adults, it is most contagious to perform sports activities outdoors.

We are in a fragile phase when it comes to the spread of infection and are still on a plateau.

At the same time, sport is important for health and there are special recommendations for children and young people.

The Government's recommendation to municipalities and regions to keep unnecessary activities closed still applies.

For the gyms, sports facilities and bathhouses that are still open, the new covid-19 law applies./Gunlög Rasmussen

Hey!

I would like clarity on what to do if you get symptoms that could possibly be covid, but have already had it (established) within the last four months?

The information on 1177 and FHM is not unambiguous if you have had covid.

Should / may you test yourself?

If not, how do you know what applies both in terms of how long to stay away from people and in relation to care (can there be other things that need care)?

Grateful for answers!

And grateful for all your perseverance in care!

John

If you have been diagnosed with covid before and fall ill again within the next 6 months, you do not normally need to take a new sample.

If, on the other hand, you become so seriously ill that you need to seek care for your ailments, a new sample is taken to ensure that it is not covid./Gunlög Rasmussen

How should families with young children think about being seen outdoors?

The adult or older children can control impulses and think to keep their distance, but younger children do not have the same ability.

It is not possible to guarantee that the children keep sufficient distance from each other.

What are the risks of infecting each other?

Emma

Meeting outdoors is good, but you should still keep your distance.

As you write, it is difficult for the youngest children to relate to.

If you spend more time together, you should therefore limit your contact to your close contacts.

In general, the risk of infection is lower outdoors.

Young children are also contagious to a lesser extent compared to older children and adults.

Exactly how great the risk is in an individual case can not be said because it depends on various things such as symptoms, virus level and degree of exposure, but the risk that asymptomatic children will infect each other outdoors must be seen as small.

We have bought train tickets to visit relatives in Skellefteå during the sports holiday.

We have our own sleeping car on the train and will not meet anyone other than our relatives, who work from home and do not move among people.

Should you dare to go or should you cancel?

What do you see as the biggest risk, the train journey itself or staying in Skellefteå?

Josef

All situations involving contact with people pose a certain risk.

The important thing is to limit the number of new contacts.

With your own sleeping car, however, you make it possible not to meet others on the trip.

On the other hand, meeting relatives in Skellefteå that you do not normally meet means new contacts.

If they isolate themselves at home in the normal case, however, there is a greater risk that you pose a risk of infecting them than the other way around./Gunlög Rasmussen

We choose between a longer day trip with a couple of short stops on the way to the mountains, and to divide the trip into two days with a hotel night on the way.

Where is the greatest risk of being infected with covid-19, during shorter stops and toilet visits to petrol stations or during a longer stop at a hotel where you of course avoid unnecessary contacts with others, but where other guests have lived before and perhaps spread infection in the room?

Kristina

All situations involving contact with humans pose a risk of infection.

Based on that, it is probably better to complete the trip in one day.

Prepare the trip well to avoid stops where you meet other people as far as possible.

Take, for example, your own lunch bag.

When visiting the toilet, it is just as always important to remember to be careful with hand hygiene./Gunlög Rasmussen
