The concept of using food is proven in Swedish international politics.

- Food diplomacy is not new to Sweden, we have a brand that has been known since at least the 1930s, and that is the Swedish smorgasbord.

It is a very, very strong brand for Swedish gastronomy, and thus also Swedish national politics, says Richard Tellström, associate professor of food culture.

According to Richard Tellström, the traditional Swedish meatballs can be "a little on ice".
