Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - Saxony-Anhalt is looking for 1000 new teachers for the new school year.
The Ministry of Education announced on Tuesday in Magdeburg that a second round of applications with an application deadline of March 14 had started.
For the first time, agencies are taking part that are specifically looking for teachers from abroad and lateral entrants.
"We are still working flat out to fill vacancies or vacancies so that the new school year will be successful after the ongoing challenges in connection with the corona pandemic," said Education Minister Marco Tullner (CDU).
The declared aim is to be able to employ and retain teachers trained in the country.
The state wants to hire 244 teachers for primary schools, 235 for secondary schools, 112 for community schools, 178 for grammar schools, 125 for special schools, 27 for comprehensive schools and 79 for vocational schools.
A bonus can be paid for a good 100 positions because they are difficult to fill.

According to the ministry, the current tender supplements the permanent tenders that are published at the beginning and the middle of each month.
