Pokljuka (dpa) - The German biathletes remained without a medal in Pokljuka, Slovenia, even at the beginning of the second week of the World Cup.

Franziska Preuß took seventh place in the singles on Tuesday as the best DSV ski hunter with two shooting errors.

When the flawless Czech Marketa Davidova won, the 26-year-old from Bavaria was 2: 14.4 minutes behind after 15 kilometers.

Silver went to Hanna Öberg from Sweden (1 mistake), bronze went to Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (1) from Norway.

Preuss was fifth in the pursuit and eighth in the sprint.

The second best German in perfect conditions was Denise Herrmann (2) in 15th place. Vanessa Hinz (3), who had won silver at the World Championships in this discipline in Antholz last year, was 33rd, Maren Hammerschmidt (2) came in just behind 34.

Previously, the German team had not won a medal for the first time since 2013 after the first week.

Even after six out of twelve races, this disappointing result remains.

Actually, the team had made four to five precious metals.

The next chance is on Wednesday (2.30 p.m. / ZDF and Eurosport) in the men's singles.
