Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Also thanks to increasing demand, hunters in Baden-Württemberg can achieve very good prices for game meat, according to their association.

According to General Manager Erhard Jauch, they get 3.50 to 5.00 euros for one kilo of wild boar.

In East Germany, however, only 50 cents would be paid.

"This is practically a gift," said Jauch of the German press agency in Stuttgart.

The reasons are probably a lower demand for game in the east and that more animals are shot there, not least because of the African swine fever.

Game meat is no longer just a seasonal dish in this country.

"The demand is unchecked even after Christmas," said the state hunting association spokesman.
