Schilda (dpa / bb) - Two people were injured in a house fire in Schilda (Elbe-Elster).
According to police, a fire broke out on Monday on the upper floor of a single-family house.
A 66-year-old woman and an 88-year-old man suffered a shock and were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation, the police said on Tuesday.
The fire brigade could not prevent the house from burning down completely.
According to initial estimates, the amount of property damage is several tens of thousands of euros.
According to the information, forensic technicians can only begin investigating the cause of the fire if the house can be safely entered.
