February 16, 2021 A 16-year-old was injured in the hand with a stabbing weapon during a fight between children in Via Partenope on the Naples seafront.

The minor was treated in the hospital.

The fight, it is learned, would have taken place in two successive moments involving some minors around lunchtime.

Customers who were in local bars and on the street fled frightened.

The news, released by Confesercenti which speaks of serious damage to the economy and also refers to an attack on a 118 vehicle, was confirmed by the police.

With two letters signed by the presidents of Confesercenti Napoli, Vincenzo Schiavo, and Fiepet Napoli, Antonio Viola and by the vice-president Fiepet Roberto Biscardi, an urgent meeting was requested from both the prefect of Naples Marco Valentini and the commissioner Alessandro Giuliano.

"We report that a gang of kids sparked a fight and attacked a 118 vehicle in via Partenope - reads the letter - and that these criminals did not have masks. The public establishments along the seafront cannot suffer further damage beyond those that they have already brought them to their knees, so we require even greater vigilance and presence ".

"The unworthy struggle has made all the customers of the waterfront clubs run away. In our eyes - adds Vincenzo Schiavo - the State is absent, the city seems abandoned to its fate. It is not possible that there are just two police cars. It's the last day of Carnival, it's sunny, it's a party, it was absolutely obvious that there would be a gathering of people. The protagonists of this brawl are criminals, scum with no respect for others and for the city. Unfortunately, it is always the restaurateurs who pay, already overwhelmed by debts, already harassed by a year of Covid and a thousand restrictions. The friends of I Re di Napoli, for example, were attacked by a group of thugs. It is a double shame. Because gatherings are absolutely forbidden and because it is not possible that our entrepreneurs are victims not only of Covid but also of these criminals ".

"What is their fault? - asks the president of Confesercenti Campania - Perhaps that of having a restaurant on the seafront? That of paying thousands of euros a day in rent? On their part there is great indignation and enormous concern for the future : bankruptcy or renunciation of activities is just around the corner. An urgent meeting is needed with the prefect and the commissioner: we are available, as always, to collaborate, but the safety issue of the Lungomare is essential. They are becoming impoverished - concludes Schiavo - two patrimonies: that of the activities of the area and that linked to the beauty of the place ".
