Munich (dpa) - Soccer professional David Alaba from FC Bayern Munich will possibly explain his future plans this Tuesday after a long guesswork.

After the 3: 3 in the Bundesliga home game against Arminia Bielefeld, the German record champions sent an invitation to an online press conference with the Austrian international, which is scheduled for 2 p.m.

According to information from the “Bild” newspaper, the 28-year-old Alaba will then announce his departure from Bayern at the end of the season.

This has been considered safe for a long time.

The defender's contract expires in the summer.

He can then move on for a free transfer.

Bayern had not been able to agree on a new contract with the two-time triple winner and his advisor.

In November the association withdrew its offer after numerous rounds of negotiations.

Last weekend, Bayern announced the signing of Dayot Upamecano from Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old Frenchman is considered the successor to defense chief Alaba, who has played for Bayern since 2008.

It is expected that Alaba will move abroad.

Real Madrid have been the favorites so far.
