Leipzig (dpa / sn) - The onset of the thaw did not cause any problems for drivers on the Saxon roads on Tuesday.

"It was surprisingly quiet, the problems were limited, there were hardly any major accidents," reported a spokesman for the traffic warning service.

Only on the A17 near Dresden did a driver lose control on Tuesday morning and overturn his vehicle.

He was slightly injured.

Most car and truck drivers are prudent and have adjusted to the road conditions, the spokesman emphasized.

In addition, the winter service has "done a great job" in the past few days.

The motorways, federal and state roads have been cleared.

The traffic also flows on the side streets.
