Hanover (dpa / lni) - In several parts of Lower Saxony, accidents caused by slippery roads occurred on Monday.

The A7 was closed from the Göttingen junction to the Göttingen service station in the south in the evening.

The gritting vehicles from the Göttingen motorway maintenance authority were in constant use, the police said.

On the A7 between Northeim and Seesen towards the north, several vehicles also spun in the evening, causing sheet metal damage.

In other regions too, such as Oldenburg, many cars came off the road on smooth surfaces.

A car overturned on the A27 near Cuxhaven, confirmed a spokeswoman for the Oldenburg police department.

Accidents near Bleckede and Uelzen were reported from the deeply snow-covered Lüneburg area.

"In Goslar it is still raining, at higher altitudes it is freezing," said a police spokesman.

In the Upper Harz, the radio warned against using the streets.

«It is better to stay at home».

Freezing rain was also reported from the Hameln-Pyrmont district, where classroom teaching and emergency care had failed, as in other circles.

There were smooth sidewalks, but well-covered streets in Hanover.

"The main streets are well salted here," said a police spokesman.

There were no accidents to report until evening.
