Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - In Saxony-Anhalt, the psychological stress on employees has increased, according to the commercial health insurance company (KKH).

According to her calculations and based on those insured with her, employees were on an average of 35.5 days off sick leave due to depression, chronic exhaustion or the like in 2020.

That was 2.2 days more than in 2019. According to the KKH, the duration of illness due to mental illness in 2020 was 43.7 days - 4.2 days more than in the previous year.

According to the KKH Thuringia, the strongest increase in sick leave due to psychological stress had within a year, with 7.1 days, and the smallest increase in Brandenburg and Hesse with 2.1 days each.

According to the KKH, it is not known to what extent the development is directly related to the corona pandemic.

Isolation and quarantine measures as well as changes in professional and private everyday life left their traces in any case.

According to its own information, the KKH has more than 1.6 million insured persons.
