Kiel (dpa / lno) - Apart from the cities of Flensburg and Lübeck and the districts of Pinneberg and Duchy of Lauenburg, daycare centers and elementary schools will open again everywhere in Schleswig-Holstein next Monday - but under special corona conditions.

Accordingly, the daycare centers start in regular Corona operation, as Health Minister Heiner Garg (FDP) and Education Minister Karin Prien (CDU) announced on Monday.

For elementary schools, it applies that the pupils in grades 1 to 4 return to face-to-face lessons under corona conditions, and the full day can be offered in compliance with hygiene regulations.

There is emergency care for grades 5 and 6.

In the secondary schools, on the other hand, for grades 5 to 13 until March 7th, the distance teaching remains.

Due to the higher incidence values, stricter rules apply to the cities of Flensburg and Lübeck as well as the districts of Pinneberg and Duchy of Lauenburg.

For the time being, there is only emergency care in the daycare centers and primary schools in Flensburg, and distance teaching will remain.

"For all grades except for the final classes, it is not possible to write class tests in person until further notice," said the ministries.

For Lübeck and the districts of Pinneberg (excluding the island of Helgoland) and the Duchy of Lauenburg, there is emergency care and distance learning in the daycare centers and in school classes one to six until February 28.

From March 1st, there will be limited day-care facilities in Lübeck and in the Pinneberg district, and elementary school students will take alternating classes.

In the Duchy of Lauenburg, a decision is to be made on February 22nd how things will continue there in March.

In the meantime, a plan is to be developed for the daycare and school staff, “so that the employees who are so important for looking after and schooling the children can have themselves tested regularly, regardless of the occasion and free of charge for them,” explained Garg and Prien.

Both announced that they would submit a proposal to the cabinet on Tuesday as to how corona tests can be offered in schools and daycare centers twice a week until Easter.

"Funds of around 17 million euros are to be estimated for this," declared the ministers.
