Altheide (dpa / mv) - When a regional train collided with a truck near Altheide (Vorpommern-Rügen district), four people were slightly injured on Monday.

According to the police, the damage amounted to several 100,000 euros.

According to previous knowledge, the unloaded wooden trailer of a truck combination had apparently got stuck in the track bed when the 32-year-old driver had to avoid an oncoming truck.

Then the regional train coming from Rostock collided with the trailer.

According to the police, the train was occupied by 34 passengers.

The driver went into shock.

The travelers were taken to their destinations by bus.

The high property damage results from the damage to the train and the truck as well as to the rail barriers and a larger power distribution box.

The track bed was also damaged over a length of 200 meters.

The federal road at the accident site was closed for a long time.

The rescue measures should last until the early evening.
