Hilden (dpa / lnw) - The fire in a warehouse in Hilden (Mettmann district) employed more than 100 emergency services from several cities on Sunday.

During the extinguishing work, the biggest challenge was that the extinguishing water was partly frozen immediately at the low temperatures, the fire brigade announced on Sunday evening.

The fire broke out in the afternoon and covered the entire hall.

Thick black smoke developed, and the flames were visible from afar.

In the evening, the fire was reportedly under control - but the post-extinguishing work would drag on until Monday morning.

As the “Rheinische Post” reported, there were bales of paper for several hundred thousand euros and two printing machines on fire.

One of the machines cost several million euros.
