Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - In Hessian prisons, six convicted prisoners are imprisoned for Islamist-motivated acts.

One of them is expected to be released within the next six months, said the Interior Ministry in Wiesbaden on a small request from the AfD.

All six are currently classified as potentially dangerous.

The actions of the six men were not only religiously, but also politically motivated.

"A prisoner has a foreign citizenship," said Interior Minister Peter Beuth (CDU).

He is to be deported after his release from prison.

In the case of foreign threats who are not in pre-trial or criminal detention, deportation detention is generally used.

According to Beuth, around 40 so-called Islamist threats are currently known in Hesse.

Almost half are abroad, some of them are believed to have been killed in fighting.

Some of the threats currently living in Hesse are in custody, the rest are dealt with by the security authorities, Beuth said.

People who are considered dangerous by the police are expected to commit a serious politically motivated crime.

For the foreign threats living here, deportation has priority in order to protect them from terrorist attacks.

A Syrian living in Hesse recently went online to the security authorities.

He is said to have planned a large-scale terrorist attack with his two brothers.

Specifically, the trio is said to have been involved in the purchase of several kilograms of chemicals in Poland in January that can be used to manufacture explosives.
