Berlin (dpa) - According to an evaluation by the Barmer health insurance company, employees in geriatric care are most often on sick leave due to coronavirus infections.
In the fourth quarter of 2020, this affected 7.6 out of every 1,000 people in employment in this industry, as the health insurance company determined based on its own insurance data.
20 professional groups particularly affected by corona cases were compared.
This was followed, among other things, by nurses with 7.3 corona sick leave per 1000 employees.
For staff in medical practices, this value was 5.5.
On the other hand, the proportion of those on Corona sick leave was lowest in advertising and marketing with 2.5 per 1,000 employees in this occupational group.

With a view to the risk of infection in the workplace, Barmer boss Christoph Straub said that corona cases are lower in industries in which distance and hygiene rules tend to be easier to comply with or home office is increasingly possible.
In social professions it is imperative that employees get vaccinated.
