The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare officially approved the use of the US pharmaceutical company Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine on the 14th.



This is the first time that the Corona 19 vaccine has been approved in Japan.



Previously, the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Comprehensive Organization, a Japanese pharmaceutical review organization, compiled an review report that acknowledges'special approval' that simplifies the review process, stating that there are no special problems with the safety and effectiveness of Pfizer vaccine.



Accordingly, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Welfare expert meeting approved the special approval on the 12th, and the Welfare Prize of Noricha Tamura made a formal approval decision on that day.



Pfizer signed a contract with the Japanese government to supply 72 million vaccines and applied for approval in December of last year.



Subsequently, a clinical trial procedure in Japan was conducted to confirm the safety and effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine.



With the completion of the Pfizer vaccine approval process, the Japanese government plans to start vaccinating key healthcare workers, including national hospitals, from the 17th.
