While the elderly are the main victims of the coronavirus, 70% of nursing home residents have now received a first dose of vaccine.

Invited from Europe 1 on Sunday, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Solidarity and Health in charge of autonomy, Brigitte Bourguignon, welcomed this success and announced that this figure would be 80% at the end of the month.

INTERVIEW

Protecting the elderly in the face of the Covid-19 epidemic is a major issue in ending the crisis.

This mission concerns both the 700,000 people placed in institutions, especially nursing homes, but also the 750,000 living at home and benefiting from the personalized autonomy allowance.

One year after the arrival of the virus in France, 70% of nursing home residents received a first dose.

Enthusiastic at the mention of this figure, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Solidarity and Health in charge of autonomy, Brigitte Bourguignon, is already thinking bigger: "We will be at the end of February at 80%", she declared at the microphone of Europe 1.
