Weather forecast: Thirteen departments in great cold orange vigilance

The weather on Saturday will be wintry, even freezing in the north of the country, while thirteen departments are on vigilant orange cold, according to Météo-France.

At 6 o'clock on Saturday, there remained 3 departments in snow-ice orange vigilance, on the Brittany point, and 13 departments in the northeast in extreme cold orange vigilance.

At the beginning of the morning on Saturday, a disturbance is located at the point of Brittany and gains eastwards during the day.

Within this disturbance, freezing rains are possible, aggravating the slippery phenomena already present with the freeze-up.

Small layers of ice can again form on the roadways.

The freezing rains could be a little more important in the Côtes-d'Armor.

The departments of Ille-et-Vilaine, Manche and Loire-Atlantique could also be concerned by the end of the afternoon, but to a lesser extent (yellow vigilance).

In the afternoon, precipitation will still affect eastern Brittany, the Pays de la Loire and Lower Normandy.

Pockets of cold air could also locally give ice despite slightly positive temperatures.

The greatest caution is requested from motorists using the roadways in these regions.

In Rhône-Alpes, snowfall has stopped but we can see severe frosts, sometimes down to -9 ° C in the plains.

Temperatures will be particularly cold there on Saturday and at night from Saturday to Sunday.

Highs will peak between 0 and 3 ° C over the northern half of the region.

The thaw will be very slow during the day.

Orange vigilance for Rhône-Alpes has ended, where frosts lead to difficult road traffic on the secondary network, warns Météo France.
