Berlin (dpa / bb) - An aggressive man is said to have attacked two men with a bottle in Berlin-Kreuzberg and insulted them anti-Semitically.

The duo was talking on Friday morning in Oranienstrasse when the 54-year-old is said to have suddenly interfered, as the police announced on Saturday.

When the two 39- and 55-year-olds asked him to continue, he is said to have hit the older man in the face with an empty beer bottle.

However, he was able to overwhelm and hold the attacker until the alerted police arrived.

Meanwhile, the aggressive man is said to have insulted him anti-Semitically and made hate speech.

The 55-year-old suffered a bruise but declined treatment.

According to the police, the reasons for the attack were initially unclear - as was whether alcohol was involved in the alleged attacker.
