Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Hamburg's CDU boss Christoph Ploß has spoken out in favor of nationwide opening of hardware stores, among other things.
"Why flower shops and hardware stores, which can essentially sell their goods outside, still have to close, is not understandable," he told the German press agency.

The inconsistent line between the northern states of Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony when opening the flower shops and garden centers had caused displeasure.
While the neighbors in the north and south have already announced easing, the stores in Hamburg will remain closed at least until March 7th.
A limited extension of the lockdown is "currently inevitable in order to get the spread of the virus under control in view of the new, more contagious mutations," said Ploß.

“As a society we cannot torment ourselves endlessly from lockdown to lockdown,” warned the CDU state chairman.
