Berlin (dpa) - When Christian Streich became a coach at SC Freiburg, professional football was at most a distant dream for Youssoufa Moukoko.

The 16-year-old offensive player from Borussia Dortmund and the 55-year-old coach of SC Freiburg are in the focus on Saturday.

Just like, among other things, a returnee to the old home.

Bayer Leverkusen - FSV Mainz 05 (3.30 p.m.)

KEREM DEMIRBAY: The label of the € 32 million most expensive transfer in the Leverkusen club's history seemed to weigh on Kerem Demirbay despite insurance to the contrary.

In one and a half years in Leverkusen, the ex-Hoffenheim player has never achieved the status of the unrestricted regular player.

The 27-year-old scored the first two goals in the 5-2 win against Stuttgart the previous week.

So he could stay in the team against Mainz on Saturday, although his friend Nadiem Amiri is back after corona quarantine.

Borussia Dortmund - TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (3.30 p.m.)

YOUSSOUFA MOUKOKO: So far he has made nine short appearances in the Bundesliga and scored two goals.

But in the game against Hoffenheim, the 16-year-old BVB talent could be in the starting line-up for the first time in his young career.

Because established professionals like captain Marco Reus have been weakening for weeks, coach Edin Terzic is thinking about personnel consequences.

At the 1: 2 in Freiburg last match day, Moukoko fired more shots on goal within half an hour than his teammates in the hour before.

"It brought a lot of momentum and is definitely an option," commented Terzic tellingly.

VfB Stuttgart - Hertha BSC (3.30 p.m.)

SAMI KHEDIRA: In Stuttgart of all places.

Where it all began for Khedira, he could play his 100th Bundesliga game on his return after more than ten years.

Not for VfB, but for Hertha, which recently signed the 2014 world champion.

In May 2010, the 33-year-old played his last home game for the Swabians.

Now he is coming back for the first time as an opponent of his home club.

However, the veteran will initially sit on the bench, as he is still behind in training after a long break from competitive matches.

CHRISTIAN STREICH: In just under a year, Christian Streich could celebrate his tenth anniversary as coach of SC Freiburg.

With his renewed contract extension the longest serving Bundesliga coach laid the foundation for this on Thursday.

The 55-year-old has been working as a trainer for Breisgau since December 2011.

So if he has his way, it is far from over.

In Bremen, Streich will look after the Freiburg professionals for the 343rd time in a competitive game.

1. FC Union Berlin - FC Schalke 04 (6.30 p.m.)

LORIS KARIUS: Now he can prove himself.

After his brief stint in the 1-1 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach, the loan from Liverpool had made clear his claims to the box at 1. FC Union Berlin.

More than one game in the cup from the start - and Union was eliminated - Karius has not yet made it.

Because Andreas Luthe, the number one in Köpenick, is not available against Schalke for private reasons, Karius will now be challenged.

As always, coach Urs Fischer didn't want to commit himself, but the chances are great, the Swiss revealed.
