"I was dreaming of another world ...": Jean-Louis Aubert, Honorary President of the Victoires de la Musique, kicked off the evening on Friday by singing these first words from a telephone hit on the guitar, aloud symbolic significance in this period of health crisis.

During his performance, Aubert was surrounded by a slew of musicians and dancers, as if to signify the importance of live, while there is still no visibility for the resumption of concerts.

This 36th Victories ceremony, particular, is also organized at the Seine Musicale (Paris region) without an audience, Covid-19 requires.

Extras were however placed in the room to applaud the live performances of the nominated artists.

"President, it is not easy these days, because the presidential has been replaced by the face-to-face," Aubert quipped in his inaugural speech.

Squeaking, he took advantage of "the presence or absence of the Minister of Culture" Roselyne Bachelot, to ask her to "continue to take care of the musicians, the technical teams, the show organizers", while the situation returns to normal.

The most awaited rewards in this evening are those of male artist (Benjamin Biolay, Gaël Faye and Vianney in the running), female artist (Aya Nakamura, Pomme, Suzane) and especially of album ("Aimée", Julien Doré ; "Grand Prix", Benjamin Biolay; "Lundi méchant", Gaël Faye; "Mesdames", Grand Corps Malade; "Paradis", Ben Mazué).
