The pair of the French team made up of Léo Le Blé Jacques and Julia Pereira from Sousa Mabileau won the bronze medal in the mixed team event of the Snowboardcross Worlds on Friday in Idre Fjall (Sweden).

The French were beaten in the final by Australia (Jarryd Hugues and Belle Brockhoff) and by Italy (Lorenzo Sommariva and Michela Moioli).

The pair composed of Léo Le Blé Jacques (24 years old) and the Olympic vice-champion Julia Pereira de Sousa Mabileau (19 years old) was however in the hierarchical order only the 2nd of the France team, after the one formed by Merlin Surget and Chloé Trespeuch (9th).

The day before no French had climbed on the podium of the individual event.

The Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Worlds were to take place in China at the site of the 2022 Beijing Winter Games, but the host country threw in the towel in December for the organization of this biannual event because of the pandemic of Covid-19.

The disciplines were dispersed over several sites and on different dates.

Sweden have reclaimed snowboardcross and skicross, the finals of which will take place on Saturday.
