Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania wants to switch back to face-to-face teaching in schools from February 24th.

First, the students in grades 1 to 6 should return to their schools.

However, this only applies to districts and independent cities that have stable fewer than 50 corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days, said Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) on Friday in Schwerin after another MV summit on the corona pandemic.

This currently applies to three districts and the city of Rostock.

From March 8th on, students in the higher grades will gradually be brought to the schools, initially alternating between face-to-face teaching and homeschooling.

For a long time, face-to-face lessons have been offered for final classes to prepare for exams.

In corona hotspots with an incidence of over 150, only emergency care is to be offered to younger students in the future.

Since the tightening of the corona lockdown in mid-December, no regular classes have been given in the northeast.

It is currently winter holidays.
