Berlin / Kassel (dpa / lhe) - The seven-day incidence in Hesse continues to fall.

As the Berlin Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported, it was 62.7 for the entire state on Friday.

On Thursday the value was 65.8.

In Kassel, according to the RKI, the value even fell below the new guideline value of 35: to 31.2 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days (as of midnight).

The information provided by the municipalities themselves may differ from the RKI figures.

Within one day, 687 confirmed new infections and 36 further deaths were registered in Hessen.

The total number of deaths in Hesse was 5398. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 179 467 infections have been registered in Hesse.

According to the intensive care registry of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (Divi), 357 Covid-19 patients were treated in intensive care units in Hesse on Thursday.

188 of the intensive care patients were ventilated.

Throughout Hessen, 1694 of 1943 intensive care beds were occupied - also with patients with other diseases.
