Hair clippers: this is the easiest way for men
If you have never cut your own hair before, you should start with the simplest possible look.
The hair clipper can be used for this.
The hair is best dry for this, because this shows how long the hair actually is.
They are a little longer when wet.
Basically, the following applies to short men's haircuts: The neck and sides can be a little shorter so that the head looks longer and the cut looks more defined - unless you have planned a classic buzzcut with a uniform length.
Place the hair clipper on the top of your head and guide it from front to back against the direction of growth.
For the sides it is advisable to set the machine at an angle.
Here too, work is done from front to back.
In order to finally or exclusively shave the nape of the neck, you should comb any hair back and determine a point at which the hairstyle ends.
Shave there in the middle and continue the cut vertically from there.
Small hair can be removed with a disposable razor.
Cutting hair with a machine: what is the right length?
At the beginning: try it a few more millimeters, because of course: what is off is off.
The scalp becomes visible under ten millimeters - so if you still want to show full hair, you should not choose the length too short.
Many hair clippers, including a model from Philips *, offer 60 length settings - everything from 0.5 to 42 millimeters is possible thanks to the easy-to-use comb attachments.
Especially if you plan to create a haircut with different lengths, you should first select the largest possible setting and slowly feel your way so that you can later cut a clean transition.
Tip: To make sideburns look well-groomed, they should never be longer than the beard.
With a length of 0.5-2.5 millimeters, you can't go wrong with wearing a three-day beard more often.
Trim the hair with short upward movements and then place the razor horizontally to shorten the length.

Cutting hair with a machine: Transition succeeds with a simple trick
display
For transitions, you should place the clipper at the nape of your neck and slowly lift it up while you shave up the back of your head.
So the hair stays longer on the top than on the bottom and you can achieve a smooth transition almost effortlessly.
Tip: Get help trimming the back of your head to create a straight look.
Cutting hair with a machine: self-made cuts for women
Women’s haircuts are also possible with the machine - a cut that has grown out can be saved with a trendy undercut, for example.
For this one or both sides are trimmed and the top hair can fall over it.
Here, too, a small difference in length is nice and useful.
Either a machine attachment or modeling scissors can be used for this.
So that the top hair is not damaged, you should fix it with clamps.
A less radical variant is also possible with the machine, simply select a setting for longer hair and work your way up for a smooth transition from bottom to top, while slowly lifting the machine off your head.
