Now, he leads the candidacy of Citizens to preside over the Generalitat demanding "hugs".
Does proposing hugs Citizens forget the tension? There was never tension, there was firmness.
And with hugs we mean the Catalans.
The independence leaders do not need hugs but rather respect the law.
What do you think
do polls indicate a decline in their parliamentary representation?
Surveys have always given us much less than what we later got.
There are 34% undecided according to the latest known figures, a lot of possible abstention and we trust that when the vote is finalized they will give it for the option of coexistence and change and vote for Citizens
Is Salvador Illa the candidate to beat?
The objective to beat is separatism and Constitutionalism must be very clear about it.
If we ask for the vote for Cs, it is because we are convinced that with one more seat constitutionalism can form a government.
Do you think that the PP was wrong by not forming a coalition with you?
I believe that a constitutionalist coalition would have benefited participation and mitigated the effects of the electoral law for the constitutionalist vote.
We would have pooled nominations and it had been beneficial.
It could not be and now placed on the list we ask for the vote of those who guarantee that a constitutionalist government with sufficient representation can be made.

In their campaign they are proposing great pacts on fundamental issues, such as health, culture or economy.
Is it a way to heal wounds?
During the pandemic we have met with more than 150 associations of the most diverse nature and political differences were parked at the beginning.
Most of the Catalans want to rebuild Catalonia, fight against the pandemic and against the economic crisis.
There are large meeting spaces that we are willing to look for
However, they are committed to a Catalonia that overcomes the independence process and corruption ...
If there is no overcoming of the independence process there will be neither economic recovery nor the fight against corruption because we will have more of the same.
And we will have it with a pro-independence government or with ERC in power from the hand of the PSC.
That is why the only change is a government of Citizens with the socialists
The PSC is the constitutional party with the highest representation in the polls.
If their votes were decisive for a non-nationalist government, would they support a socialist candidate?
What we hope is that the socialists will support us to form a government if in the end that indecisive vote gives that turnaround that we hope.

Mr. Montilla in his day also said that he would not do a tripartite and the result is well known.
Nobody believes neither the PSC, nor ERC nor JuntsxCat.
The PSC maintains pacts throughout Catalonia with Junts and ERC in town councils and in the Diputación de Barcelona itself.
In addition, Minister Calvo has already said that these crossed vetoes are things that are said in the campaign, but clearly he opened the door of the tripartite with the separatists.
The PSC is eager, Podemos is crazy about it and ERC, his word is still worth less than that of the PSC.
What proposals do you have about the Catalan public information media?
The public media must stop being a propaganda machine at the service of power and, above all, the most expensive in Spain.
We do not want to close TV3 but we do want to substantially reduce its budget and for the station to assume the legal framework and report impartially.
In each electoral information they speak of 'political prisoners and exiles', arguing journalistic criteria when by order of the electoral board they cannot say.
There are no criteria that protect a continuing lack of truth and with political bias, and we see it every day
What proposals does your training have to manage the health crisis from the Generalitat?
Reverse the cuts in healthcare that we have been suffering in Catalonia since 2010;
promote primary care or take measures of gratitude to health personnel and the rest who work in hospitals, residences and centers, such as administrators, guards and cleaning services, who are those who take more risks, in days or in extraordinary payments.
We also propose an immediate crash plan against the waiting lists that we are delaying diagnoses and surgical operations.
What about economic measures?
There are two models: Either intense restrictions with aids or fewer restrictions and fewer aids.
We are in favor of a model similar to that of the community of Madrid, easing restrictions especially in shops, restaurants, or nightlife that are the most affected.
We propose to let work and the restrictions negotiated and consulted with the sector, which has not been done here, taking into account their needs.
When nothing other than restrictions is possible, they must adhere to objective criteria, establish closing limits or premises restrictions following objective indices, as we have done in Andalusia.
If there is no choice but to close, we do as in Castilla y León, which is to meet with the affected sectors and give aid.
Other big economic questions would be;
At income 0, quota 0 for freelancers, direct aid of up to 75% of the lost turnover, aid to rentals depending on the type of restrictions if they are partial, 1,500 euros, or total, up to 4,000 euros, and aid to the owners of the premises .

How do you consider that the Generalitat has managed the pandemic?
We Catalans have suffered double negligence, that of the Government and that of the Govern.
The Government took shelter behind the 17 autonomies, only revealed its management capacity for vaccines, which is hope, and the management of the pandemic left it in the hands of the communities.
That caused that here in Catalonia with a Government fought among themselves, divided and locked in the electoral race, we have run out of management.
As a separatist government they already said that they did not come to manage an autonomy and it has been like that.
They have made political use of the pandemic, they have said that if we had been independent there would be fewer deaths, they have prevented the Army's medical units from going into operation to disinfect residences or set up hospitals due to political prejudice and electoralism.
Between the inoperation of Health and the abandonment of the functions of the Company and the Economy, which have not given enough aid, we are one of the autonomous communities that will suffer the most from the economic crisis.
Furthermore, we have not had a noticeable improvement in the evolution of the pandemic in the face of important restrictions.
