Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The Hamburg Towers have forgotten how to win in the basketball Bundesliga and had to accept the next setback in the fight for a playoff place.

On Friday evening, the team of trainer Pedro Calles in the edel-optics.de arena lost to table 16.

Telekom Baskets Bonn earned 71:78 (40:35) after an overall weak performance and thus suffered the third defeat in a row.

The first half of the match had the Hanseatic League with 93:63.

The best throwers from Hamburg were Jordan Swing and Justus Hollatz with 15 points each.

In the first 20 minutes, the Towers were well on the defensive, but revealed weaknesses in their own close range throws.

The team was all the more successful in its triple attempts and also benefited from a well-presented Hollatz, who scored all his baskets until the break and thus played a significant role in the halftime lead of the hosts.

The performance of the Hanseatic League in the second half should not be better.

Rather, the missed throws increased in the Calles team, which now increasingly had problems in defense and rebounds.

In the final phase there was a lack of ideas in the offensive game and even the top performers could no longer turn the tide.

At times the gap was 14 points.

Already on Sunday (8.30 p.m.) the next game for the table seventh from Hamburg is in Giessen.
