Berlin (dpa) - Alba Berlin has celebrated its eleventh win in a row in the basketball Bundesliga.

On Friday evening, in front of empty stands in their own hall, the Berliners won against medi Bayreuth with 80:68 (47:38).

Alba thus consolidated his second place in the table.

The best throwers from Berlin were Maodo Lo with 23 and Simone Fontecchio with eleven points.

Coach Aito Garcia Reneses again had to do without the injured trio Niels Giffey, Peyton Siva and Jayson Granger.

His team initially found it difficult to get into the fourth game within eight days.

The hosts were quickly 6-0 down.

The rhythm was missing particularly offensively.

Led by international Lo, Alba took the lead for the first time after six minutes (11:10).

The Franks acted very aggressively and stayed tuned.

At the beginning of the second quarter, Alba was able to pull away a bit with a 9-0 run.

It went better now, especially on the offensive.

In the middle of the second section, the lead became double-digit for the first time (35:25).

Thanks to good rebound work, the Franks stayed in the game.

After the break, however, Alba defended much more intensely and so kept winning the ball.

In the middle of the third quarter they were able to extend their lead to 22 points after a 10-0 run (67:45).

The guests never gave up and fought their way back in the final section.

But they couldn't get closer than eight points.
