Iserlohn (dpa / bb) - The Eisbären Berlin have also won their second away game within 24 hours and thus defended their lead in the northern group of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

On Friday evening, the capital city won 4: 1 (1: 0, 0: 0, 3: 1) at the Iserlohn Roosters, after celebrating 6: 1 in Krefeld the day before.

Zach Boychuk, Frank Hördler, Giovanni Fiore and Leonhard Pföderl ensured the hard-won success with their goals.

In front of empty stands in the ice rink on the Seilersee, the polar bears began to concentrate.

In the first power play, Boychuk provided the early lead.

But with some time penalties, the Berliners brought themselves into distress afterwards and it was thanks to their strong goalkeeper Mathias Niederberger that they took the narrow lead into the first break.

Because both teams defended for a long time afterwards, the next goal came in the final section: When the Eisbären played twice undernumbered for the second time, Joseph Whitney scored for the hosts to equalize.

But the Berlin struck back with a goal from Hördler in the power play and won clearly through further goals from Fiore and Pföderl in the end.
