Übach-Palenberg (dpa / lnw) - After a woman in Übach-Palenberg near Aachen was threatened with a weapon and forced to withdraw money, the police determined two suspects.

Whether the suspicion against the two is confirmed is the subject of further investigations, the police and public prosecutor in Aachen announced on Thursday.

The 50-year-old victim said she was threatened with a gun and handcuffed in an apartment on Wednesday by a 30- to 35-year-old man.

She was able to break free and alert the police.

A special task force then stormed the apartment, but found it empty.

The woman had stated that she was in the car when a man got in with a gun.

Before that, another car drove up behind.

She had to withdraw cash from a nearby bank.

Then they drove with a woman around 25 years old to an apartment in an apartment building, where she was handcuffed.

The police are looking for witnesses.

The 50-year-old's car has disappeared.
