Hanover (dpa / lni) - In the dispute over Hanover's collective labor agreement, the Verdi union has called on the state capital's employees to go on a warning strike on Thursday.

He assumes that “well over 3000” employees will take part in the all-day warning strike, said Verdi negotiator Harald Memenga.

All 9,000 employees in the city are called to a warning strike, with the exception of emergency care in daycare centers and employees in corona vaccination centers.

In the pandemic, the strikers should not meet, but rather come together in the digital stream.

According to the union, the background to this is that there was no acceptable offer from the employer in the negotiations for a collective employment guarantee agreement.

"We now have to send a clear signal to make it clear to the employers how important this collective agreement is for all employees," said Memenga.

It is about privatization and outsourcing protection, health protection, regulations for digitization and hardship surcharges.

According to the union, the collective agreement on job security has been a “success model” for over 15 years.

He protects the employees and their jobs and prevents the city of Hanover from being dismembered by privatization.

The contract was supposed to be renegotiated in spring 2020, but was extended by six months due to the pandemic.
