Gummersbach (dpa / lnw) - In an escalated dispute in a parking lot in Gummersbach (Oberbergischer Kreis), three men were seriously injured with stings on Wednesday evening.

According to initial findings, two men (25 and 32 years old) are said to have argued with a group of four, as the police and public prosecutor announced on Thursday.

The background to the dispute was initially unclear.

Rescue workers then took the 25-year-old and the 32-year-old with stab wounds to a clinic.

A 32-year-old on the other side had also gone to hospital independently with stab wounds.

He and his 23 to 28-year-old colleagues were arrested that evening.

Shots from a gas pistol had also been fired at the scene.

The police seized several cartridge cases, a gas pistol and a knife.

A resident heard the gunshots and screams and called the police.

The investigations and interrogations into the course of the dispute continued.
