Stralsund (dpa / mv) - Two men from Stralsund are in custody on suspicion of serious robbery.

The apartments of the two suspects had previously been searched with the help of the special task force of the State Criminal Police Office.

In the course of a public manhunt, witness references to the 32- and 38-year-olds were received, as the police announced on Thursday.

The men were arrested on Wednesday.

The arrests are related to two robberies in Stralsund last autumn.

A masked man had attacked a kebab shop at the end of September.

He had threatened an employee with a pistol-like object and stolen a low three-digit sum of money.

In October, a male perpetrator had asked the cashier of a supermarket to hand over cash with a pistol-like object.
