Legendary jazz pianist Chick Corea has died

Chick Corea is dead. The legendary jazz pianist died of a rare cancer, as announced on his Facebook page.

The American was 79 years old.

Corea established himself as a pianist in the early 1960s, working with Stan Getz, Herbie Mann and others.

Later in the decade he joined Miles Davis' band and played a key role in enabling the trumpeter to transition to a more contemporary sound.
