Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - "Test, test, test" is the mantra of the Minister of Education and CDU top candidate Susanne Eisenmann, in order to make further easing of the corona lockdown possible.

So far, it has not really penetrated the green-black coalition with the demand for mass unreasonable tests.

But now Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) has convened a top-level discussion on the state's test strategy for the coming week.

"We are striving to further expand the test options," said the head of government on Thursday in the state parliament.

He will therefore invite the responsible ministries and the municipal state associations.

So far, the green side had said that a massive expansion of the unreasonable tests for police officers, bus drivers and supermarket cashiers - as requested by Eisenmann - would mean a lot of effort and a lot of money.

Health Minister Manne Lucha (Greens) repeated again and again: "We cannot test the virus away."

Most recently, however, the two ministers agreed to expand tests at daycare centers and primary schools.

Eisenmann's spokesman said on Thursday: "In order to be able to enable further possible opening steps in the medium term, we have to significantly expand the test strategy with random quick tests."

He added: With communal rapid test centers, in addition to employees for educational and care institutions, other professional and population groups could also be offered a wide range of tests that were easily accessible.
