Army.Jaén blames Vice President Calvo for the transfer of the military logistics base to Córdoba
Crisis. Sánchez's territorial grievance: one billion "less" for Andalusia and "more" for Catalonia
Jaén Deserves More, the citizen group that brings together more than one hundred social, business and cultural institutions in the province, has asked that Carmen Calvo be declared a person "non grata".
For this they have submitted separate letters to the
City Council of Jaén and the Provincial Council
so that in the next plenary sessions the vice president of the Government is declared a hostile person in the province of Jaén.
The reason is this: "With one
finger
, the vice president of the Government has humiliated, despised and cut off without compassion the development that Jaén is owed to reverse the fact of being the Spanish territory with the highest unemployment in Spain and the province that it plans to lose more than one hundred thousand inhabitants before 2040 ".
The location of the logistics base of the
Army
that Defense had guaranteed to establish in Jaén has been the last straw for Jaen society to explode.
Never before has the province experienced days of such anger, dismay and despair.
This weekend there are called a
cacerolada
(Saturday) and a
demonstration in vehicles
(Sunday) that are expected to be massive.
The health crisis has prevented citizen demonstrations from taking to the streets.

Jaén has seen how his last dream of job development has also disappeared.
The capital had been working for fourteen months on a project that was going to report an investment of
340 million
euros,
1,600 direct jobs
(most of them civilians) and another
1,500 indirect jobs
.
This promise - guaranteed by the Secretary of State for Defense in a telephone call that the mayor of Jaén, the socialist Julio Millán, received on December 24 - would have partly alleviated the drama of unemployment in the
province with the most unemployment
in Spain .
Jaén is a capital that survives thanks to its civil service and the service sector, increasingly weakened due to the health crisis.
Linares
, the second most populated city in the province with just over seventy thousand residents, has become the new Spanish Detroit.
Unemployment rates there exceed fifty percent in young people and women, and the closure of El Corte Inglés and Zara, two commercial emblems, has led to depression and ruin in a city that had been characterized until a few decades ago by its entrepreneurial drive and their desire to generate wealth.
Railway infrastructure
There is not a single indicator that calls for hope.
Those responsible for Jaén Deserves More put it this way: "The reasons? A tram that does not exist, an ITI investment that does not exist, a
promised
health city
that was never installed, a medical school that was not installed either, two incomplete highways responsibility of the Board (A-306 to Córdoba and A-316 to Estepa), two other highways under the responsibility of the Government without being done (A-32 and A-81) and the dismantling of 90% of the railway infrastructure in the last quarter of a century ".
PROA, the most important business group in the province chaired by
Fulgencio Meseguer
, the creator of Software Del Sol, has said enough: "There has been a black hand, with ties to its province, which has ignored the rest of the candidacies. of Defense, responsible for the process, has not intervened in the selection of the project and has been submissive to the decision of Carmen Calvo, vice president of the government. We demand full transparency in the arguments of the selection of the selected province and, where appropriate, the reversal of the decision and the concession to the province that has bet the most on this proposal, "said the businessmen.
Citizens will take to the Congress of Deputies the election of Córdoba as the headquarters of the future logistics base of the Army.
"Is Carmen Calvo behind?" Deputy
Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez will
ask
in the next government control session.
The Popular Party has also joined the Citizens' information demands, but only in the capital of Jaén.
Municipal spokesman
Manuel Bonilla
asked the rest of the parties for a unanimous declaration to demand Carmen Calvo to explain in the parliamentary headquarters the criteria by which the logistics base will be installed in her province.
Neither the Popular Party of Córdoba, which governs the capital, nor the Andalusian Popular Party that governs the Junta and which at this time juggles to distance itself from the confrontation between its provincial militants, has joined this request.
There has been an agreement: Last Wednesday all the municipal groups of Jaén -PSOE, PP, Ciudadanos, Adelante Jaén and Vox- unanimously agreed to demand information from the Executive.
The letter is already in Madrid and awaits its parliamentary processing.
Calvo will be obliged to explain.
The Mayor's Letter
The local socialist leaders have a tough ballot.
Julio Millán
, who will attend Sunday's demonstration "against the none in Jaén", demanded through a harsh letter to President Pedro Sánchez to reverse the location of the logistics base in the province of his vice president.
Francisco Reyes
, provincial secretary of the PSOE and one of the most powerful leaders of Andalusian socialism, spoke in similar terms.
These days he has expressed before prominent members of his party the exhaustion of his province at the historical marginalization it suffers.
Beyond the equidistance or the ambiguity shown by those responsible such as the government subdelegate in Jaén,
Catalina Madueño
, who limited herself to saying that she regretted that her province did not host the military base, the outcome has weakened the options that some covered such as the deputy for Jaén
Felipe Sicilia
, as equidistant and ambiguous as his colleague Madueño, and who the most belligerent socialists openly blame for not having any weight or relevance in Congress.
Logistics center
Meanwhile, in Córdoba they rub their hands over the manna of jobs that will arrive in the coming months.
The mayor of the city, the popular
José María Bellido
, has revealed that there was a strategy prior to the concession of the military base that the Government and the Junta knew of to turn Córdoba into the most important logistics center in the south of the peninsula.
The concession of the military base, for which the Cordovan deputy
Antonio Hurtado Zureña
began congratulating
himself
by saying that "Carmen Calvo has personally requested it from Pedro Sánchez and has been granted it", reinforces this strategy that will close the logistical circle and that will generate large economic dividends.
Bellido has reproached Jaén, the province with the highest unemployment rate in Spain, for losing his evil: "That they stop giving this
unfortunate spectacle
," he demanded.
