Harth-Pöllnitz (dpa / th) - The fire brigade in the municipality of Harth-Pöllnitz in the Greiz district rescued a horse that broke into a pond on thin ice.

As the Niederpöllnitz volunteer fire brigade reported on its Facebook page on Thursday, helpers with a lifting kit were used to rescue large animals.

The Niederpöllnitz agricultural cooperative also provided technology.

"The horse was successfully rescued from the pond and returned with a shock to the stable," said the fire department.

As the Mitteldeutsche Rundfunk reported, it took the rescuers around three quarters of an hour to pull the animal out of the pond.
